Trophy Guide Overview

Welcome to my trophy guide for Maquette. Maquette is a fun little puzzle game. It uses some interesting mechanics for its puzzle, namely size manipulation. To put it simply you are in a world, within a world, within a world. You will need to move objects between the worlds to change their size. For example, in a certain level you will use a key to unlock a door, but then you will need to cross a gap to actually get to the door. You can use this same key as a bridge. By leaving it in the smaller (model) world, it will become a large bridge in the magnified world. It's a very interesting approach to puzzle design.

The platinum for this game is very simple, if you really wanted to, you could probably read up on each trophy and do it in a single playthrough. I wouldn't advise this though. I would first play the game and experience the puzzles and story it's trying to tell for yourself.

Now there isn't a chapter select when you finish the game, which is a bit frustrating, but you can speed run the entire game in 30 minutes, so it's not too bad. For the second playthrough I was advise trophy clean up and speedrun, this might sound counter-intuitive, but don't worry it's simple enough. Play each level again, but this time make your self aware of which chapter you can get each miscellaneous trophy. Play each chapter, if there is a trophy to earn do so, then restart the chapter in the pause menu and proceed to speedrun the chapter for the speedrun trophy. This is a good way to practice each chapter one last time as well. Also, make a manual save as you start each chapter in case you fail the speedrun.

The video below is a full speed run through the entire game. The video is only 35 minutes long and that is how quickly you can get through the game if you skip all of the cutscenes, which you'll need to do for the speed run trophies. I will be referencing this video throughout the guide.

SIlver Trophy.png

Story related and can't be missed.

You will get this trophy after you complete the third chapter of the game, The Gateways. The Gateways chapter introduces a new mechanic, colour crystals. These essentially work as keys and give you access to different areas, depending on which crystal you are holding.

If you get stuck on any of the puzzles, please see the video in the trophy guide overview above.

The Wedge.png

The Wedge

Completed The Wedge.

SIlver Trophy.png

Story related and can't be missed.

You will get this trophy after you complete the fourth chapter of the game, The Wedge. This is the longest chapter of the game and is the mid-point. It's actually a fairly straightforward chapter as you prominently just be using size manipulation again to solve the puzzles.

If you get stuck on any of the puzzles, please see the video in the trophy guide overview above.

The Escape.png

The Escape

Completed The Escape.

SIlver Trophy.png

Story related and can't be missed.

You will get this trophy after you complete the fifth chapter of the game, The Escape. This is another linear walking chapter, similar to the first one. About halfway through this chapter you'll pick up a crystal and this acts as your guide. When you look through it will show the path of 'breadcrumbs' to follow.

If you get stuck on any of the puzzles, please see the video in the trophy guide overview above.

The Spiral

You will get this trophy after you complete the sixth chapter of the game, The Spiral. Similar to the previous chapter this one is pretty linear too. There are a few puzzles along the way this time though.

If you get stuck on any of the puzzles, please see the video in the trophy guide overview above.

SIlver Trophy.png

Story related and can't be missed.

You will get this trophy after you complete the seventh and final chapter of the game, The Exchange. This chapter introduces the interesting mechanic of moving the maquette around to move you from one end of the level to the other. It is a very short chapter as you'll only be moving between a few towers.

If you get stuck on any of the puzzles, please see the video in the trophy guide overview above.

Story related and can't be missed.

This will be the first trophy that you will unlock. During the first chapter, The Garden you need to unlock a door with a nearby key. It'll pop once you do that.

Precise Placement.png

Precise Placement

Rotated an item for a better fit.

Bronze Trophy.png

Secret Trophy

Story related and can't be missed.

You'll get this trophy during chapter two, The Maquette. During that chapter you will need to use normal sized items, for example a key, on the small model area to create bridges in the normal sized world. To do this you will have to rotate the item to get it to fit. This trophy is for rotating an item for the first time. Doesn't get much simpler than that.

Size Manipulator.png

Size Manipulator

Changed the size of an object to solve a puzzle.

Gold Trophy.png

Secret Trophy

Story related and can't be missed.

Size manipulation is the name of the game in Maquette. You will get this during chapter two, The Maquette. During that chapter you will find a large gold ticket. To get the ticket to fit into the ticket slot you need to shrink it. You do this by leaving the large ticket on the floor in the normal sized world, then go to the model sized world and find it on the floor. It will normal sized now. Once you pick it up you'll unlock this trophy.

Breakout.png

Breakout

An early exit.

Gold Trophy.png

Secret Trophy

Chapter Specific (Chapter 2)

You can get this trophy at any point in chapter two, The Maquette. To unlock it, simply take the key from the normal world and lean it against a wall in the model world so that you can get over the wall into the oversized world. Once you've done that use the ramp you've just created and hop the wall. Don't worry about getting back there are lifts in the corners of the normal sized world.

Secret Trophy

Chapter Specific (Chapter 3)

You can only unlock this trophy during the third chapter of the game, The Gateways. In the 'green' area you will see a doghouse next to the stairs leading into the house. All you need to do is enter that dog house for the trophy.

To get into the house you will need to go to the oversized world. You actually need to do this for one of the puzzles near the end of the chapter. Once you finally have the cog a wall will appear blocking your way. To go to it you need to use the ramp to left of the newly formed bridge to jump into the oversized world. At this point you can just head straight for the 'green' house and walk through the crack in the wall to get to the dog house.

Chapter Specific (Chapter 6)

Run, Move, Run.png

Run, Move, Run!

Entered the Arch Tower on your first try.

Gold Trophy.png

Secret Trophy

Chapter Specific (Chapter 7)

You can only unlock this trophy during the seventh chapter, The Exchange.

During this chapter you will have to touch a few objects you will have seen during the game. Once you touch the blue owl a switch will appear in the tower, along with a row of arches leading to the next tower. Hitting this switch will open the door to the next tower, but it is on a timer, so you need to be quick, you need to do it first time. Before hitting the switch, go back outside and move the red dome building close to the tower with the switch. Then hit the switch and run for the red dome building again and move it to the next tower at the end of the archways. Enter the door to the new tower and the trophy will unlock. If you fail, restart the chapter and try again.

TL;DR Gardens.png

TL;DR: Gardens

Completed the Gardens under 3 minutes.

SIlver Trophy.png

Chapter Specific (Chapter 1)

As the description says, complete the first chapter, The Gardens in under 3 minutes.

The speed run times in this game are fairly forgiving. You can make mistakes and still make the time pretty comfortably. The best timesaver for these trophies is to skip the cutscenes by holding O. Any time control gets taken away from you, just hold O just in case. Something I would highly recommend is making a manual save at the start of the chapter. This is because there is no chapter select after the game ends. This way if you fail you can just load it back up. Also, if you think you are going to fail the time, pause the game and choose restart. This is a good way to get practice and get any miscellaneous trophies out of the way as well.

If you get stuck on any of the puzzles, please see the video in the trophy guide overview above.
